Full Review
I came across the Fulminare P05 air purifier a few months ago. At first glance, I was impressed by its incredibly low price, good reviews, and the impressive number of units sold.
However, as soon as I unpacked it, it became clear that not everything was as great as it seemed. The build quality is poor, the device is much smaller than expected, and it quickly became apparent why the price is so low.
The Fulminare air purifier immediately reminded me of the Jinpus air purifier, which has similar marketing principles, price points, and a huge number of positive reviews. Additionally, it also brought to mind the Temu air purifier, which I recently bought and found to have an identical build quality to the Fulminare-pretty bad.
Keep reading to find out how the Fulminare P05 performed in our tests, how loud it is, whether it’s affordable to maintain, and what (if anything) makes it stand out.
How We Tested the Fulminare P05?
1. For the filter efficiency testing, we used the Temtop LKC-1000S laser particle meter, which measures PM2.5 (µg/m3), PM10 (µg/m3), Particles (per/L), and HCHO (mg/m3) in the air, and also calculates the AQI.
2. We placed the Fulminare P05 in two separate performance tests, one in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room and the other in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room. Then, we recorded the initial air quality values using the Temtop laser particle meter and let the Fulminare P05 run at maximum speed.
3. After 60 minutes, we measured the new values using the Temtop laser particle meter and saved the data.
4. Next, we placed the Fulminare P05 in a glass box, which we then filled with smoke. Then, we measured how much time was needed for the air purifier to remove all the smoke from the box.
5. Using a special noise measurement tool, we tested the air purifier’s noise level at all speeds. We measured the noise level on the dBA scale.
6. Finally, we measured the power usage at all speeds using an energy meter, after which we calculated how much it would cost to use the device at a particular fan speed for one month. For reference, we used an energy price of $0.12 per kWh.

The Fulminare P05 is not an Energy Star-certified air purifier, which makes it difficult to verify the CADR values claimed by the company.
According to Fulminare, the P05 model has an exceptionally high CADR of 135 CFM (230 m³/h). In my opinion, this value seems unrealistic for this model—I would estimate it to be closer to 50 CFM.
Still, I will use the company-provided CADR and recommended room coverage for our tests. So, the Fulminare P05 covers rooms of up to 215 sq. ft. (20 m²).
Testing in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) Room
In the first test, performed in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room, the Fulminare P05 delivered pretty disappointing results.
# | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
---|---|---|
PM 2.5 | 104.6 µg/m³ | 32.4 µg/m³ |
PM 10 | 146.5 µg/m³ | 45.2 µg/m³ |
Particles | 151798 per/L | 47010 per/L |
AQI | 137 | 43 |
After 60 minutes of running at maximum speed, it improved the air quality by only 69%, making it one of the worst-performing devices tested in this room.
Particle Removal Test Room - Comparison
Comparison between the Fulminare P05 and its competitors in particle removal tests in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room.
The comparison chart above highlights similar air purifiers, clearly showing that the Fulminare P05 ranks among the lowest performers.
For example, the Aroeve MK01 improved air quality in the same room by 86%, the MOOKA B-D02L by 87%, and the Blueair Mini Max by an impressive 92%.
Testing in a 194 sq. ft. (11 m²) Room
In the second test, performed in a larger room of 194 sq. ft. (18 m²), which is also below the recommended room size specified by Fulminare, the results were even worse.
We ran the device at maximum speed and measured air quality improvement after 60 minutes using the Temtop laser particle meter.
# | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
---|---|---|
PM 2.5 | 106.8 µg/m³ | 58.7 µg/m³ |
PM 10 | 149.6 µg/m³ | 82.1 µg/m³ |
Particles | 154971 per/L | 85125 per/L |
AQI | 139 | 79 |
The Fulminare P05 improved air quality by only 43%, demonstrating very low efficiency, even for a compact air purifier of this size.
Overall, I don’t think the Fulminare P05 is an effective air purifier.

The Fulminare air purifier is a compact device with only three fan speeds and very low airflow.
It is one of the quietest air purifiers I’ve tested, though this was expected due to its low CADR and small room coverage.
Noise Levels Test - Comparison
This chart compares the noise levels at the minimum and maximum speeds of the Fulminare P05 air purifier with those of its competitors.
At its lowest speed, it produces a sound level of 41.1 dBA, making it one of the quietest air purifiers we’ve reviewed. For comparison, the Levoit LV-H126 produces a slightly higher sound level of 42.3 dBA at its lowest speed.
At maximum speed, the Fulminare P05 is impressively quiet. It produces just 51.6 dBA. This places it among the quietest air purifiers we’ve tested at maximum speed. Refer to the chart I created to see how it compares to similar models.
Fan Speed | Fulminare (dBA) |
---|---|
Speed 1 (Low) | 41.1 dBA |
Speed 2 (Medium) | 44.8 dBA |
Speed 3 (High) | 51.6 dBA |
While the Fulminare P05 excels in quiet operation, its low CADR, significantly below-average performance, and inefficiency in neutralizing bad odors make it a less compelling option overall.
This small air purifier uses a motor of just 6W. While it is well-optimized in terms of energy efficiency, it also has a low CADR.
If you run this air purifier at maximum speed, 24 hours a day, for an entire month, it will cost you approximately $0.24, which is an exceptionally low operating cost.
Monthly Power Cost – Comparison
Comparison of the monthly power cost at maximum speed between the Fulminare P05 and some of its competitors.
The Fulminare P05 is clearly the most energy-efficient air purifier among all the models we’ve tested.
In addition to energy costs, there is the expense of replacement filters, which need to be changed every three to six months. In my opinion, the filter price is a bit higher. Over a year, the price of the replacement filter exceeds the price of the device itself.
Fan Speed | Fulminare (W + $/month) |
---|---|
Standby | 0.2W ($0.02) |
Speed 1 (Low) | 1.2W ($0.11) |
Speed 2 (Medium) | 1.6W ($0.14) |
Speed 3 (High) | 2.7W ($0.24) |
When all costs are considered, the Fulminare P05 air purifier is affordable for annual maintenance. However, the replacement filter price could and should be more budget-friendly.
Filtration Technology
The Fulminare air purifier features three-stage filtration technology, including a pre-filter, a True HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter.
It’s hard to believe that such an affordable air purifier uses a True HEPA filter, and I must say that I’m a bit skeptical of this claim.
The Fulminare isn’t Energy Star certified and lacks other certifications to confirm the authenticity of its True HEPA filter. Verifying this information is challenging.
However, our performance tests demonstrated that this model is significantly less efficient than the company claims.
The filter is cylindrical in shape and is positioned inside the bottom part of the device.
Fulminare P05 Replacement Filter
Always buy genuine filters for the best performance. As soon as the filter reset indicator is on, you are ready to change filters. Do it as quickly as possible.
Check Filter Price On AmazonPre-filter
The pre-filter is the first stage of filtration. It’s a nylon mesh filter whose main purpose is to capture large particles and thus protect and extend the lifespan of the True HEPA filter.
This filter will capture large dust particles, hair, pet hair, and similar large particles.
In my opinion, this is a very useful stage of filtration and absolutely the one every air purifier must have.
True HEPA
The core stage of filtration is the True HEPA filter; however, it’s difficult to confirm whether the Fulminare P05 truly uses a True HEPA filter.
If this claim is accurate, the Fulminare P05 should be capable of capturing 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, smoke, allergens, and similar particles.
Activated Carbon
The final stage of filtration is the activated carbon filter, which is pellet-based.
However, it contains a small amount of carbon pellets, which, when combined with the low CADR, results in low efficiency in neutralizing bad odors.
How to Replace the Fulminare P05 Air Purifier Filter?
I couldn’t find any information that the Fulminare air purifier has a built-in filter reset indicator, which I consider a significant drawback. It’s one of the very few air purifiers I’ve tested that lacks this feature.
Without a filter reset indicator, you’ll need to manually track when it’s time to replace the filter.
Although the recommended replacement period is between 3 to 6 months, I believe the filters will last no more than 3 months in most cases.
On a positive note, the filter replacement process is straightforward and involves just a few simple steps.
Setup and Installation
This compact air purifier comes almost ready to use; however, you’ll need to prepare the filter before turning it on for the first time.
Start by removing the filter from the device, unpacking it from its plastic wrapping, and placing it back into the unit.
Once that’s done, your air purifier is ready to go. Simply connect the power adapter, position the air purifier in your desired location, plug it into a power outlet, and turn it on.
Be sure not to block the airflow and place the device as far as possible from walls and other objects for optimal performance.
Design
In terms of design, the Fulminare P05 doesn’t offer anything revolutionary. It’s a simple, cylindrical air purifier that looks similar to many other models in this price range.
The unit I bought for testing purposes is white, but a black variant is also available. The top features a gray control panel with buttons and indicators.
The build quality and plastic feel are not impressive; in fact, the device feels quite cheap, which is unsurprising given its low price.
Overall, it’s a simple air purifier with a minimalistic design that will likely blend into most environments without standing out.
Controls
All controls are located on the top of the air purifier, where you’ll find the control buttons and indicators.
The control panel includes buttons for power, fan speed, timer, and night light. Each button, except for the night light, has an indicator above it to show whether the feature is active.
The buttons are well-arranged and easy to use.
However, the addition of a remote control or smart app compatibility would significantly enhance the user experience, making the air purifier much more convenient for daily use.
Airflow
The Fulminare P05 is a compact, cylindrical air purifier that draws air in through holes located at the bottom, which are distributed around the entire device.
The air is then filtered and pushed upward, exiting through the fan grilles at the top.
Size and Dimensions
The dimensions of the Fulminare P05 air purifier are 5.71 x 5.71 x 9.88 inches (14.5 x 14.5 x 25.1 cm). It weighs 1.8 lb (0.8 kg).
It’s a small and compact air purifier that’s easy to move from room to room.
What’s in the box?
When you buy the Fulminare P05 air purifier, you will get 1x air purifier, 1x 3-in-1 filter, 1x AC power adapter, a quick start guide, and a user manual.
Before using the device for the first time, make sure to prepare the filter.
Not doing so could damage the device, and if the filter remains wrapped, the air purifier will not clean the air effectively.
Features Overview
The Fulminare P05 doesn’t include many features, but it does include a few that can make everyday use easier.
However, the lack of a filter reset indicator is a significant drawback in terms of functionality.
Additionally, it lacks smart features or the ability to be remotely controlled, which would have been valuable additions.
Night Light
The night light is a feature that allows you to activate a warm yellow light, which can serve as ambient lighting in your living room or bedroom.
It can be turned on or off using the night light button on the control panel and can even be used independently of the air purifier function.
Timer
The timer is another useful feature. It allows you to set a specific duration, after which the air purifier will automatically turn off.
You can choose from three timer settings: 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours.
Warranty
This air purifier comes with a one-year warranty, but depending on the retailer, you may be able to get an extended warranty.
