Full Review
Temu is undeniably a popular platform that’s steadily expanding into many markets, and for good reason: the products are extremely affordable, often priced well below standard market rates.
Personally, I’m not a fan of shopping on Temu, but my wife frequently places orders. When it comes to air purifiers, I came across someone praising a small model from Temu, probably on TikTok, so I thought, why not test it?

I ended up buying an air purifier from a brand called HOTU, a name I had never heard of before. Honestly, I doubt they specialize in air purifiers. It feels like someone just picked a random name and slapped it on the product. There’s no branding anywhere on the device itself, and I’ve seen identical models on Temu being sold under completely different brand names.
However, the price surprised me, and even when it arrived, I was “positively” surprised. This Temu air purifier immediately reminded me of some (also very poor-performing) air purifiers I’ve tested before, like the Jinpus and Fulminare models available on Amazon.
What I’m trying to say is that the Temu air purifier isn’t necessarily worse than similar low-cost devices you might find on Amazon or at a local store, but let’s deep dive into the review and discuss real data.
How We Tested the Temu EJ-JHQ01?
1. For the filter efficiency testing, we used the Temtop LKC-1000S laser particle meter, which measures PM2.5 (µg/m3), PM10 (µg/m3), Particles (per/L), and HCHO (mg/m3) in the air, and also calculates the AQI.
2. We placed the Temu EJ-JHQ01 in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room. Then, we recorded the initial air quality values using the Temtop laser particle meter and let the Temu EJ-JHQ01 run at maximum speed.

3. After 60 minutes, we measured the new values using the Temtop laser particle meter and saved the data.
4. Using a special noise measurement tool, we tested the air purifier’s noise level at all speeds. We measured the noise level on the dBA scale.
5. Finally, we measured the power usage at all speeds using an energy meter, after which we calculated how much it would cost to use the device at a particular fan speed for one month. For reference, we used an energy price of $0.12 per kWh.

Frankly, this is a very small air purifier with no available information about its CADR or recommended room coverage.
I wouldn’t recommend using it in spaces larger than 50 sq. ft. (4.6 m²), and even that might be too much for it.
Although there’s no official CADR data, I still tested this air purifier in a small room and used it for a few days to see if it had any noticeable effect.
As you’ll see in the test results below, this is without a doubt the worst air purifier I’ve ever tested. Even the Clarifion Ionizer performed better—and frankly, I’d recommend that over this Temu air purifier.
Testing in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) Room
We tested it in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room, letting the Temu air purifier run for 60 minutes.
We measured the air quality before and after the test, and interestingly, the device improved air quality by only 33% during that time.
Particle Removal Test Room - Comparison
Comparison between the Temu EJ-JHQ01 and its competitors in particle removal tests in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room.
This result is barely worth mentioning, and an air purifier with such low “efficiency” simply can’t earn my recommendation.
| # | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
|---|---|---|
| PM 2.5 | 94.9 µg/m³ | 63.4 µg/m³ |
| PM 10 | 132.9 µg/m³ | 88.7 µg/m³ |
| Particles | 137729 per/L | 92134 per/L |
| AQI | 124 | 83 |
As shown in the chart below, the Temu air purifier ranks among the worst performers in this test.
Noise Levels Test

The Temu EJ-JHQ01 has only one fan speed, which is quite limiting and disappointing.
We measured the noise level at that speed using a specialized noise-measuring tool.
| Fan Speed | Temu EJ-JHQ01 (dBA) |
|---|---|
| Speed 1 (Low) | 45.9 dBA |
The result showed that the Temu air purifier produces a noise level of 45.9 dBA, which isn’t particularly loud but the lack of more fan speed settings significantly lowers its score in this test.
When it comes to operating costs, the first thing worth noting is that the Temu air purifier uses a motor with just 5W of power, which is one of the lowest among all the devices we’ve tested so far.

This means it will cost you around $0.44 to run it 24 hours a day for an entire month.
| Fan Speed | Temu EJ-JHQ01 (W + $/month) |
|---|---|
| Standby | 0W ($0) |
| Speed 1 (Low) | 5W ($0.44) |
That’s a minimal expense, and the price of replacement filters is also quite low.
However, even though I don’t have the exact CADR value, I can confidently say it’s very low, and a device with such a low CADR is essentially ineffective.
Filtration Technology
The Temu air purifier uses a three-stage filtration system consisting of a main filter, a carbon filter, and an ionizer.
The filter is cylindrical, very small, and located in the lower half of the device.

Although the official product page claims this air purifier uses a True HEPA filter, I’m not so sure—especially considering how unlikely it is that a device in this price range could offer high-quality filtration technology.
The carbon filter is also extremely weak, as shown in our odor neutralization tests, where the Temu air purifier performed poorly.

When examining the texture of the filter closely, I wouldn’t even call it a carbon filter—it looks more like a basic sponge. It’s more of a pre-filter than anything else.
What also concerns me is that the device uses an ionizer without CARB certification or any other documentation confirming that the ionizer is safe to use.
How to Replace the Temu Air Purifier Filter?
Replacing the filter in the Temu air purifier is extremely simple and requires just a few steps.
However, I noticed that this air purifier doesn’t have a filter reset indicator, so you’ll need to track the replacement schedule manually. The filters typically last around two months.
You can purchase a replacement filter on Temu by searching for “Temu EJ-JHQ01 replacement filter.”
Setup and Installation
The Temu EJ-JHQ01 requires no setup before first use. The device comes ready to work right out of the box.

All you need to do is place it in your desired location, at least 20 cm away from walls or other objects, plug it in, and that’s it.
Design
There’s really not much to say about the design. It’s a basic cylindrical air purifier with almost no features.

The appearance is very minimalistic, and the plastic quality feels quite low.
What works in its favor are its compact dimensions, so I believe it could still fit into certain spaces, even though it’s far from being one of the more attractive air purifiers on the market.
Airflow
This cylindrical air purifier draws air through the openings at the bottom, filters it, and then releases it through the vents on the top.

Be sure not to block the air inlets or outlets when positioning the device.

Size and Dimensions
This air purifier dimensions are 4.72 x 4.72 x 7.48 inches (12 x 12 x 19 cm).
While it doesn’t have a carrying handle, it’s lightweight and compact enough that moving it from room to room shouldn’t be an issue.
What’s in the Box?
When you buy the device, you will get a Temu EJ-JHQ01 air purifier, a 3-stage filter (pre-installed), and a user manual.
Features Overview
The Temu EJ-JHQ01 has no features!
It doesn’t even have a button to change fan speeds nor does it have a power button. That means it starts operating as soon as it’s plugged in, and that’s it.

However, it does include an aroma pad feature, similar to what we’ve seen on the Morento MR2566 air purifier and the Levoit Core Mini.
Additionally, it has a night light that emits a pleasant blue glow, but unfortunately, it can’t be turned off.
All in all, this is a minimalist air purifier with almost no extra features to speak of.
FAQ on Temu Air Purifier
Does the Temu air purifier produce ozone?
I’m not sure, as there’s no clear information available, but I would assume it likely produces ozone since it uses an ionizer. I just hope it does so within the allowed limits.
What’s the warranty on this air purifier?
I don’t think the Temu air purifier comes with an included warranty. And even if it does, I doubt it’s worth the hassle—primarily because the product ships directly from China, and returning it for a warranty claim would likely cost more than just buying a new one.
