Full Review
Levoit has been very active in the air purifier market over the past few years, establishing itself as one of the best-selling air purifier manufacturers in the US.
I have tested many Levoit air purifiers, with only a few left to review, and I can confirm that they produce high-quality, competitive products.
The Levoit Vista 200 is a compact air purifier designed for small rooms up to 161 sq. ft. (15 m²). It’s similar to the Blueair 411, which I also reviewed some time ago.
One of its standout features is its calming yellow night light, which, combined with its low noise output in night mode, makes it ideal for bedrooms.
Keep reading for an in-depth analysis of its test results, specifications, and features.
How We Tested the Levoit Vista 200?
1. For the filter efficiency testing, we used the Temtop LKC-1000S laser particle meter, which measures PM2.5 (µg/m3), PM10 (µg/m3), Particles (per/L), and HCHO (mg/m3) in the air, and also calculates the AQI.
2. We placed the Levoit Vista 200 in two separate performance tests, one in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room and the other in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room. Then, we recorded the initial air quality values using the Temtop laser particle meter and let the Levoit Vista 200 run at maximum speed.
3. After 60 minutes, we measured the new values using the Temtop laser particle meter and saved the data.
4. Next, we placed the Levoit Vista 200 in a glass box, which we then filled with smoke. Then, we measured how much time was needed for the air purifier to remove all the smoke from the box.
5. Using a special noise measurement tool, we tested the air purifier’s noise level at all speeds. We measured the noise level on the dBA scale.
6. Finally, we measured the power usage at all speeds using an energy meter, after which we calculated how much it would cost to use the device at a particular fan speed for one month. For reference, we used an energy price of $0.12 per kWh.

The Levoit Vista 200 is a compact air purifier with a room coverage of just 161 sq. ft. (15 m²).
To evaluate its performance, we tested it in two rooms and measured its effectiveness in removing airborne particles.
To be frank, the Vista 200 was less effective than expected, especially for a Levoit air purifier, a brand known for its reliability.
Surprisingly, the smaller Levoit LV-H132 outperformed the Vista 200. It also performed poorly in our smoke test and proved to be ineffective at neutralizing bad odors.
Testing in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) Room
In the first test, we placed the Levoit Vista 200 in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room, which is slightly smaller than the recommended coverage area.
# | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
---|---|---|
PM 2.5 | 65.5 µg/m³ | 17.3 µg/m³ |
PM 10 | 91.7 µg/m³ | 24.2 µg/m³ |
Particles | 95007 per/L | 25128 per/L |
AQI | 88 | 23 |
While running at maximum speed for 60 minutes, the air purifier reduced PM2.5 levels from 65.5 to 17.3 µg/m³, resulting in a 74% improvement in air quality.
However, this isn’t a particularly impressive result—in fact, it falls well below the average performance of similar air purifiers in this test.
Testing in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) Room
In the second test, we placed the Levoit Vista 200 in a room slightly larger than its recommended coverage area.
# | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
---|---|---|
PM 2.5 | 47.8 µg/m³ | 15.4 µg/m³ |
PM 10 | 67 µg/m³ | 21.6 µg/m³ |
Particles | 69392 per/L | 22483 per/L |
AQI | 66 | 21 |
Its performance was even worse than in the previous test, improving air quality by only 68%.
Particle Removal Test Room - Comparison
Comparison between the Levoit Vista 200 and its competitors in particle removal tests in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room.
For comparison, the MOOKA B-D02L improved air quality by 82% in the same room, while the Philips 600i performed even better, achieving an 89% improvement.
Performance – Smoke Removal Test
The Levoit Vista 200 has a low CADR and uses a very small filter, which are the main reasons it performed poorly in our smoke test.
This air purifier took 126 seconds to remove all the smoke from the glass box, making it one of the lowest performers in this test.
Smoke Box Test - Comparison
In this chart, you can see how quickly the Levoit Vista 200 removes smoke from a glass box compared to its competitors.
For comparison, the much smaller Levoit LV-H128 delivered significantly better results, clearing all the smoke in just 83 seconds.
Overall, I believe the Vista 200 is one of the worst-performing Levoit air purifiers.
Noise Levels Test
Noise – Sound Level Tests:
9.3 - Average Score (83 products)
10 - Best Score (1 products)
8.2 - Worst Score (1 products)
We use a special noise measurement tool to test the noise level of the air purifier at all speeds. We measure the noise level on the dBA scale.
You can read more about our testing methodology here.
This air purifier uses a low-power motor with a low CADR, which is why it operates quietly at all speeds.
The Levoit Vista 200 has four fan speeds. At its lowest speed, it produces 43.5 dBA, which is slightly higher than some other air purifiers but still very quiet.
Fan Speed | Levoit Vista 200 (dBA) |
---|---|
Sleep Mode | 43.5 dBA |
Speed 1 (Low) | 47.4 dBA |
Speed 2 (Medium) | 52.2 dBA |
Speed 3 (High) | 56.9 dBA |
At maximum speed, it reaches 56.9 dBA, making it one of the quietest air purifiers we’ve tested at this level.
Noise Levels Test - Comparison
This chart compares the noise levels at the minimum and maximum speeds of the Levoit Vista 200 air purifier with those of its competitors.
You can see how it compares to similar air purifiers at both low and maximum speeds in the chart above.
What I like about this model is that its motor runs smoothly, doesn’t produce any unusual noise, and is very quiet overall.
The Levoit Vista 200 is an extremely energy-efficient air purifier, powered by a 15W motor.
At maximum speed, it consumes just 2.7W, meaning that if you run it 24 hours a day for an entire month, your electricity bill would increase by only $0.24.
Monthly Power Cost – Comparison
Comparison of the monthly power cost at maximum speed between the Levoit Vista 200 and some of its competitors.
As shown in the chart above, the Levoit Vista 200 is the most energy-efficient air purifier among those I compared.
For instance, the Aroeve MK01 would cost approximately $1.36 under the same usage conditions, more than five times higher. However, it’s worth noting that the Levoit Vista 200 has a higher CADR than the Aroeve MK01.
Fan Speed | Levoit Vista 200 (W + $/month) |
---|---|
Standby | 0.2W ($0.02) |
Sleep Mode | 0.8W ($0.07) |
Speed 1 (Low) | 1.4W ($0.12) |
Speed 2 (Medium) | 2.1W ($0.18) |
Speed 3 (High) | 2.7W ($0.24) |
Beyond energy costs, there’s also the cost of replacement filters, which need to be changed every 5 to 7 months.
When factoring in both filter replacements and electricity usage, it’s clear that the Levoit Vista 200 is a very affordable air purifier in terms of annual maintenance costs.
Filtration Technology
The filter is the core of every air purifier. In this case, I can say that Vista 200 has a strong core. It uses a powerful three-stage filtration system.
This 3-in-1 filter is so powerful, and in Levoit Vista 200 is the main reason why we have clean air.
First Stage – Nylon Pre-Filter
This filter is made to hold large particles and not allow them to enter inside other parts of the filter. In this way, it is saving a True HEPA filter and makes it in good condition for a longer time. With this filter, dust, hair, pet fur, fibers, and lint are captured.
It is highly recommended to use a vacuum cleaner on a pre-filter. Also, you can use it on the interior, and by that process, make the air purifier effective and filters clean for a longer time.
Second Stage – True HEPA Filter
The true HEPA filter is an excellent filter that captures extremely small particles like mold spores, dust, germs, bacteria, pollen, dander, and mites. True HEPA needs to be replaced regularly, and that’s why I have a filter indicator on the touch panel.
Third Stage – High Efficiency Activated Carbon Filter
The third stage is all about smells and bad odors. With activated carbon, you can remove bad odors from cooking, bathroom smells, smoke, ammonia, and VOCs.
How To Replace Levoit Vista 200 Filter?
As soon as the filter indicator turns its red light on, you know that the air purifier needs filter replacement. In general, the filter needs to be replaced every 5 – 7 months. However, if you notice weird smells or noise, you can replace the filter sooner, even if the filter indicator is not on.
Total time: 10 minutes.
Many people complain about the check filter indicator going on after just one week of usage. If nothing is wrong with the filter and you know it is fresh, simply turn the indicator off.
Step 1
Before everything, you need to unplug the air purifier. After that, turn it upside down to remove the cover cap as well as filter cover.
Step 2
Now you see the filter, and you can take it out.
Step 3
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the interior of the air purifier. Never use water or liquids for cleaning.
Step 4
After everything is ready, take the new filter and place it inside. Put back cover and cap, and the air purifier is ready for work.
Step 5
Before using it, it is highly recommended to reset the check filter indicator. You can do that by turning on an air purifier and holding the check filter indicator for 3 seconds. That method will turn off the light on the check filter indicator. However, if you change the filter before the check filter indicator gives you a signal and is turned off, you need to hold it for 3 seconds to turn it on, and after that, press it again and hold it for another 3 seconds to turn it off.
Design
A beautiful design helps you put the Levoit Vista 200 air purifier in any room without any decorative problems. White color with a black color on the top just fits everywhere. On the top are touch buttons, and I must admit that plastic is not of high quality.
The Vista 200’s design is identical to the Levoit Core 300’s. The holes for the air intake are almost the same. However, the Vista 200 air purifier is powered with an AC 12V adapter, a rarity on the air purifier market. Another advantage of using a universal adapter is that you can easily find a replacement in case the original one goes bad.
In short, Levoit Vista 200 is designed as one cylinder which sucks air all around it, allowing airflow at 360 degrees. Most of the space inside is taken by the filter, which grants high effectiveness.
Touch Buttons
Touch is sensitive enough. You won’t have any trouble with it, and matte plastic just adds additional pleasure when pressing buttons.
However, I did have some problems with the buttons. There is no sound when you click them, and that can sometimes cause confusion.
Fan Speed Indicator
Visually let you know at which speed the air purifier works.
Fan Speed Button
By pressing this button, you can control the speed of the air purification.
Sleep Mode Indicator and Button
You will see it light when sleep mode is on if you wish to turn it off press the button.
Timer Button
By pressing this button, you can control how long you want the air purifier to be on. You can choose from 2h, 4h, or 8h. After the time is up, the air purifier will automatically shut down.
Timer Indicators
On this little screen, you can see which timer setting is used.
On/Off Button
A simple button is located in the middle of the touch panel and is used to turn the air purifier on or off.
Night Light Button
Press this button to turn on the ambient light, which can calm you and help you get better sleep. If you don’t like it, you can simply turn it off by pressing the same button.
Check Filter Indicator
This indicator will light up when filters need to be replaced.
Display Off Button
If you are extremely sensitive to light and need complete darkness to fall asleep, you can press this button, and all lights on the touch panel will shut down.
Size and Dimensions
Levoit Vista 200 air purifier is a small (7.9 x 7.9 x 12.91 inches) and mobile air purifier.
Because of its small size and lightweight (3.33 lb), you can place it on a table, nightstand, working table, or other small furniture. Thanks to matte plastic, it will not slip from your hands during transport.
Vista 200 needs to be at least 15 inches away from all walls and objects for the best airflow and high performance.
Accessories and Parts
When the mailman brings you the Levoit Vista 200 package, you should find 1x air purifier, 1x true HEPA filter installed inside the air purifier, a user manual, a quick start guide, and one AC power adapter.
Features Overview
As I already mentioned at the beginning of the review, the Vista 200 is the new product in Levoit’s product line.
Three Stage Filtration
I can say that the three-stage filtration system is proved to work, and Vista 200 uses that to its full advantage. It can remove 99.97% of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet hair, smoke, and VOCs.
Energy Efficient
The maximum power of the Levoit Vista 200 air purifier is 15W, which means that it saves energy. In other words, you can run it forever, and you won’t notice any changes in total power consumption.
You can’t use Vista 200 air purifier with a smart plug because this air purifier will not automatically turn itself on.
Sleep Mode and Night Light
In sleep mode, the air purifier works at the lowest speed and produces only 43.5 dBA. With this mode, even people who need a quiet room can enjoy breathing air during the whole night.
With a night light, you can fall asleep easier if you enjoy calming light. However, if you need complete darkness, you can shut down all lights on the air purifier with just one button.
Ozone Free
Levoit Vista 200 air purifier can be used in California and is CARB certified. CARB certificate also means that this device is ozone-free.
Timer and Speed Settings
Levoit Vista 200 features both speed settings and timer settings. Both of these settings are standard air purifier settings, which are useful in some cases. However, if you don’t need timer settings, I can suggest taking a look at the Blueair 411 air purifier.
Warranty
This air purifier comes with a one-year warranty, but you can extend it by two more years if you register it on Levoit’s warranty page.
Room Coverage & CADR
The Vista 200 is a tiny air purifier that fits any room under 161 sq. ft. I find it fits best in a small office, kids’ room, bedroom, or living room.
Condition | Required minimum Air Changes per Hour (ACH) | Suitable room size | The time it takes to clean the air in the room |
---|---|---|---|
Smoke or VOCs | 8 | 96 sq. ft. | 8 min |
AHAM standard (recommended for many conditions) | 4.8 | 161 sq. ft. | 13 min |
Normal conditions | 2 | 392 sq. ft. | 30 min |
These calculations are based on the ideal conditions! So, please keep in mind that it is always better to use a bit larger air purifier.
