Levoit has been very active in the market over the last few years, leading it to become one of the best-selling air purifier manufacturers in the US.
I have tested many Levoit air purifiers, with only a few left to be tested, and can confirm that they produce high-quality and very competitive products. The Levoit Vista 200 is the successor to the popular LV-H132 model and is currently the only device in the Vista series.
After unboxing and touching the Vista 200 for the first time, I felt that it was a well-built, high-quality plastic air purifier.
In general, the Levoit Vista 200 is a compact air purifier designed for small rooms up to 161 sq. ft. (15 m²), similar to the Blueair 411, which I mentioned recently.
Due to its calming yellow night light, it’s ideal for bedrooms. It will also fit well in a small living room or office.
I like the fact that this air purifier uses a three-stage filtration system, which includes a True HEPA filter. Overall, the Levoit Vista 200 is quite an interesting air purifier, which is why I strongly suggest you take the time to read this review carefully.
Design
A beautiful design helps you put the Levoit Vista 200 air purifier in any room without any decorative problems. White color with a black color on the top just fits everywhere. On the top are touch buttons, and I must admit that plastic is not of high quality.
The Vista 200’s design is identical to the Levoit Core 300’s. The holes for the air intake are almost the same. However, the Vista 200 air purifier is powered with an AC 12V adapter, a rarity on the air purifier market. Another advantage of using a universal adapter is that you can easily find a replacement in case the original one goes bad.
In short, Levoit Vista 200 is designed as one cylinder which sucks air all around it, allowing airflow at 360 degrees. Most of the space inside is taken by the filter, which grants high effectiveness.
Touch Buttons
Touch is sensitive enough. You won’t have any trouble with it, and matte plastic just adds additional pleasure when pressing buttons.
However, I did have some problems with the buttons. There is no sound when you click them, and that can sometimes cause confusion.

This indicator will light up when filters need to be replaced.
Display Off Button
If you are extremely sensitive to light and need complete darkness to fall asleep, you can press this button, and all lights on the touch panel will shut down.
Size and Dimensions
Levoit Vista 200 air purifier is a small (7.9 x 7.9 x 12.91 inches) and mobile air purifier.
Because of its small size and lightweight (3.33 lb), you can place it on a table, nightstand, working table, or other small furniture. Thanks to matte plastic, it will not slip from your hands during transport.
Vista 200 needs to be at least 15 inches away from all walls and objects for the best airflow and high performance.

Three Stage Filtration
I can say that the three-stage filtration system is proved to work, and Vista 200 uses that to its full advantage. It can remove 99.97% of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet hair, smoke, and VOCs.
Energy Efficient
The maximum power of the Levoit Vista 200 air purifier is 15W, which means that it saves energy. In other words, you can run it forever, and you won’t notice any changes in total power consumption.
You can’t use Vista 200 air purifier with a smart plug because this air purifier will not automatically turn itself on.
Sleep Mode and Night Light
In sleep mode, the air purifier works at the lowest speed and produces only 43.5 dBA. With this mode, even people who need a quiet room can enjoy breathing air during the whole night.
With a night light, you can fall asleep easier if you enjoy calming light. However, if you need complete darkness, you can shut down all lights on the air purifier with just one button.
Ozone Free
Levoit Vista 200 air purifier can be used in California and is CARB certified. CARB certificate also means that this device is ozone-free.
Timer and Speed Settings
Levoit Vista 200 features both speed settings and timer settings. Both of these settings are standard air purifier settings, which are useful in some cases. However, if you don’t need timer settings, I can suggest taking a look at the Blueair 411 air purifier.

The Vista 200 is a tiny air purifier that fits any room under 161 sq. ft. I find it fits best in a small office, kids’ room, bedroom, or living room.

Filtration Technology
The filter is the core of every air purifier. In this case, I can say that Vista 200 has a strong core. It uses a powerful three-stage filtration system.
This 3-in-1 filter is so powerful, and in Levoit Vista 200 is the main reason why we have clean air.
First Stage – Nylon Pre-Filter
This filter is made to hold large particles and not allow them to enter inside other parts of the filter. In this way, it is saving a True HEPA filter and makes it in good condition for a longer time. With this filter, dust, hair, pet fur, fibers, and lint are captured.
It is highly recommended to use a vacuum cleaner on a pre-filter. Also, you can use it on the interior, and by that process, make the air purifier effective and filters clean for a longer time.
Second Stage – True HEPA Filter
The true HEPA filter is an excellent filter that captures extremely small particles like mold spores, dust, germs, bacteria, pollen, dander, and mites. True HEPA needs to be replaced regularly, and that’s why I have a filter indicator on the touch panel.
Third Stage – High Efficiency Activated Carbon Filter
The third stage is all about smells and bad odors. With activated carbon, you can remove bad odors from cooking, bathroom smells, smoke, ammonia, and VOCs.
How To Replace Levoit Vista 200 Filter?
As soon as the filter indicator turns its red light on, you know that the air purifier needs filter replacement. In general, the filter needs to be replaced every 5 – 7 months. However, if you notice weird smells or noise, you can replace the filter sooner, even if the filter indicator is not on.
Total time: 10 minutes.
Many people complain about the check filter indicator going on after just one week of usage. If nothing is wrong with the filter and you know it is fresh, simply turn the indicator off.
Step 1
Before everything, you need to unplug the air purifier. After that, turn it upside down to remove the cover cap as well as filter cover.

Now you see the filter, and you can take it out.
Step 3
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the interior of the air purifier. Never use water or liquids for cleaning.
Step 4
After everything is ready, take the new filter and place it inside. Put back cover and cap, and the air purifier is ready for work.
Step 5
Before using it, it is highly recommended to reset the check filter indicator. You can do that by turning on an air purifier and holding the check filter indicator for 3 seconds. That method will turn off the light on the check filter indicator. However, if you change the filter before the check filter indicator gives you a signal and is turned off, you need to hold it for 3 seconds to turn it on, and after that, press it again and hold it for another 3 seconds to turn it off.
Noise Test
Vista 200 uses a weaker motor, and because of that, the noise pollution is smaller. As evident, the air purifier makes the loudest noise on the third speed. But you must understand that on the third speed, airflow is the highest. At a lower speed, the air purifier creates normal noise, which should not bother you.
In sleep mode, noise is even more reduced because the air purifier works at the lowest speed possible. In this mode, you can dream in a second.
As always, I did my own noise tests on Vista 200. I used a measurement tool that uses the dBA scale, so my results are different from the official results. I must say that the recently tested PARTU BS-08 is making less noise as well as a higher airflow than Vista 200. Check out all the results for Vista 200 in the table below.

Performance Tests
I used different rooms in my tests, and I will show you the most significant results.
The Levoit Vista 200 air purifier is less effective than I expected. I must admit that its performance is not great. I said that Vista 200 is the successor of LV-H132, but I must admit that LV-H132 has performed better in my tests.
Sometime after I published the Vista 200 review, Levoit released many new air purifiers, of which I would suggest checking the Levoit Vital 200S and a successor of the Core 300, the Levoit Core 300S air purifiers.
Vista 200 is recommended for a room as large as 161 sq. ft. However, in such a room, airflow is only around 40, which is not good at all.
In all my tests, I used maximum speed, and all tests were done in real-life situations. I did not do any laboratory tests on the air purifier.
For best performance, keep doors and windows closed when the air purifier is working.
194 sq. ft. Room Test
This room is larger than the recommended one, and it is no surprise that Vista 200 did not impress us in this room. Still, the air purifier improved the air and made it good. In one hour, AQI dropped from 66 to 21. That is 68% air quality improvement. The result is not too great.

120 sq. ft. Room Test
Now, I used Vista 200 in a room smaller than the recommended one. Still, even in the smaller room, I was not impressed. The motor is weak, and the airflow is low.
For the best results, I wouldn’t use it in rooms much larger than 100 sq. ft., even though it’s designed for 161 sq. ft. rooms.
Vista 200 in one hour managed to improve air from 88 to 23 AQI. That’s only a 74% improvement. If you follow my tests, you know that many other air purifiers can do a much better job.
My recommendation is to check other air purifiers, especially if you need an air purifier for a larger room. A weak motor and an external AC power adapter are not good choices for an air purifier.

Operating Costs
Vista 200 is a minimal consumer. With a motor that uses a maximum of 15W, your power bill will be intact. It uses an AC power adapter, which means there is no adapter inside it.
If you let this air purifier work for 24 hours a day for a whole month, you will spend less than $0.5$. In standby or night mode, this air purifier consumes even less energy.
