With too many air purifier brands out there, it’s not easy to rise and be the best. In this article, I will compare the two air purifiers from such premium brands, which products are top in the class. I will compare the Alen BreatheSmart FLEX and the Levoit Core 400S.
The first thing I notice about these two air purifiers is room coverage and features number difference. The Alen covers rooms of up to 300 sq. ft., while the Levoit covers rooms of up to 403 sq. ft.
They both use a three-stage filtration technology consisting of a pre-filter, a True HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. These are undoubtedly high-efficiency filters, and the reason these air purifiers made outstanding results in the performance tests. Additionally, I like the Alen pellet-based carbon filter, which consists of 2lb+ carbon pellets inside.
Other things worth mentioning are the air quality sensor, air quality indicator, auto mode, smart app, and many more advanced features available only on the Levoit Core 400S. On the other hand, the Alen FLEX is minimalism-oriented, so it doesn’t have almost any advanced features. It has basic features such as a timer, display off, and filter reset indicator features.
Anyway, in the continuation of the article, you will find out a detailed table with all the specifications of these two air purifiers compared.

Which One Does It Better?
Frankly, the Alen FLEX and the Levoit Core 400S are two outstanding air purifiers that provide excellent results in all performed tests.
However, after comparing all the specifications, characteristics, and test results, I declared the Levoit Core 400S as the winner in this battle. It performs slightly better, is cheaper for maintenance, has longer-lasting filters, has plenty of advanced features, has an air quality sensor, and much more.
Even though I declared the Core 400S as the winner, it doesn’t mean that the Alen FLEX isn’t a good buying option. It’s actually a great option, which I would suggest over the Core 400S if you are looking for a bit quieter air purifier that is, besides, amazing at neutralizing bad odors and removing smoke.
