Full Review
Venta is a German brand and one of the rare air purifiers we’ve tested that isn’t made in China.
Recently, I’ve started purchasing models for testing that aren’t exclusively designed for the US market, mainly because we cover a broader market and receive many questions from people on other continents.

The Venta LP60 Ultra is an old-fashioned air purifier that uses a double filter system, has no carbon filter layer, comes with a CADR of 168 CFM (285.6 mÂł/h), includes a remote control, and offers some advanced features.
In the following section, I’ll show the results of all the tests we’ve conducted, provide a detailed explanation of the specifications and features of this model, and explain why you might consider buying the Venta LP60 Ultra air purifier.
How We Tested the Venta LP60 Ultra?
1. For the filter efficiency testing, we used the Temtop LKC-1000S laser particle meter, which measures PM2.5 (µg/m3), PM10 (µg/m3), Particles (per/L), and HCHO (mg/m3) in the air, and also calculates the AQI.
2. We placed the Venta LP60 Ultra in a 320 sq. ft. (30 m²) room. Then, we recorded the initial air quality values using the Temtop laser particle meter and let the Venta LP60 Ultra run at maximum speed.

3. After 60 minutes, we measured the new values using the Temtop laser particle meter and saved the data.
4. Next, we placed the Venta LP60 Ultra in a glass box, which we then filled with smoke. Then, we measured how much time was needed for the air purifier to remove all the smoke from the box.
5. Using a special noise measurement tool, we tested the air purifier’s noise level at all speeds. We measured the noise level on the dBA scale.

6. Finally, we measured the power usage at all speeds using an energy meter, after which we calculated how much it would cost to use the device at a particular fan speed for one month. For reference, we used an energy price of $0.12 per kWh.

Venta offers a few replacement filter options, and the model I tested uses only a HEPA filter and pre-filter, meaning it doesn’t include a carbon filter.
Because of this, this option is best suited for airborne particle removal, while for VOCs and bad odors, you’ll need to purchase a carbon filter separately.
The Venta LP60 Ultra has a CADR of 168 CFM (285.6 m³/h), making it ideal for rooms up to 262 sq. ft. (24.3 m²).
Following its recommended room size, we tested it in a similarly sized space to see how effective it really is.
Testing in a 320 sq. ft. (30 m²) Room
We let the Venta LP60 Ultra run at max speed for 60 minutes in a room of 320 sq. ft. (30 m²).
During that time, this air purifier improved the air quality by around 93%, reducing PM2.5 particulate matter from 105 to 6.7 µg/m³.
| # | Starting Baseline | After 60 min |
|---|---|---|
| PM 2.5 | 105 µg/m³ | 6.7 µg/m³ |
| PM 10 | 147 µg/m³ | 9.5 µg/m³ |
| Particles | 152296 per/L | 9790 per/L |
| AQI | 137 | 9 |
This is a very good result and is on par with some of the best air purifiers we’ve tested.
For comparison, the Levoit Vital 200S improved air quality by about 96% in the same test, while the Bosch Air 2000 improved it by 89%.
Particle Removal Test Room - Comparison
Comparison between the Venta LP60 Ultra and its competitors in particle removal tests in a 320 sq. ft. (30 m²) room.
All in all, we can say the Venta LP60 Ultra is a high-quality and very efficient air purifier.
Noise Levels Test
Noise – Sound Level Tests:
9.3 - Average Score (91 products)
10 - Best Score (1 products)
8.2 - Worst Score (1 products)
We use a special noise measurement tool to test the noise level of the air purifier at all speeds. We measure the noise level on the dBA scale.
You can read more about our testing methodology here.
We tested the noise levels on all six fan speeds this air purifier has. It showed very good results at low speeds but was somewhat louder at max speed.
If you look at the chart where I compared the noise levels of the Venta with some other similar devices, you can easily see that the Venta is somewhere in the middle.
At the lowest speed, it produces a sound level of 40.1 dBA, which is very quiet, and we can say it’s excellently optimized at this speed.
| Fan Speed | Venta LP60 Ultra (dBA) |
|---|---|
| Boost Mode | 67.2 dBA |
| Speed 1 | 40.1 dBA |
| Speed 2 | 41.7 dBA |
| Speed 3 | 48.8 dBA |
| Speed 4 | 54.6 dBA |
| Speed 5 | 59.5 dBA |
For comparison, only a few air purifiers are this quiet. For example, the Winix A231 produces 40.2 dBA, but keep in mind this model is several times smaller and has a lower CADR than the Venta.
At maximum speed, the situation is a bit different: the Venta LP60 Ultra produces a sound level of 67.2 dBA.
Noise Levels Test - Comparison
This chart compares the noise levels at the minimum and maximum speeds of the Venta LP60 Ultra air purifier with those of its competitors.
For comparison, the Levoit Core 600S produces 68.5 dBA, which is slightly higher than the Venta, but the Levoit also has a much higher CADR and is a significantly more powerful air purifier.
All in all, I’d say the Venta is well optimized at low speeds but a bit too loud at max speed.
When it comes to operating costs, the first thing I want to highlight is that the Venta LP60 uses a 60W motor, which is much more than I expected for this CADR.
This means that if you were to run the Venta air purifier at max speed, 24 hours a day for a month, your electricity bill would increase by about $4.84.

Overall, this is a slightly higher cost than I expected. Just look at the chart and you will see many smaller air purifiers with similar CADR that consumer less power. For example, the Levoit Vital 100S would cost you around $2.66.
Monthly Power Cost – Comparison
Comparison of the monthly power cost at maximum speed between the Venta LP60 Ultra and some of its competitors.
However, electricity consumption isn’t the largest expense with the Venta air purifier, the higher expense is the cost of replacing filters, which are somewhat more expensive because you need to replace two filters instead of one, as is the case with similar air purifiers.
| Fan Speed | Venta LP60 Ultra (W + $/month) |
|---|---|
| Standby | 0.1W ($0.01) |
| Boost Mode | 55.2W ($4.84) |
| Speed 1 | 5.8W ($0.51) |
| Speed 2 | 7.5W ($0.66) |
| Speed 3 | 12.7W ($1.11) |
| Speed 4 | 18.7W ($1.64) |
| Speed 5 | 29.8W ($2.61) |
All things considered, including the price of replacement filters and electricity consumption, we can say that the Venta LP60 could have been better optimized and had a more efficient power-to-CADR ratio.
Filtration Technology
The Venta LP60 offers a few filtration options, and the model we tested uses a 2-stage filtration system consisting of a pre-filter and a VENTAcel H13 filter.
It uses dual filters placed on the sides of the device.

In addition to the filter we tested, you can also purchase the VENTAcel filter, VENTAcarb filter, and the VENTAcel & VENTAcarb filter set.
This means the Venta LP60 doesn’t come with an activated carbon filter by default, which is why it delivered slightly weaker results in our odor neutralization tests.
Pre-filter
The pre-filter is the first stage of filtration. Essentially, it’s a mesh designed to capture large particles such as dust, hair, pet hair, and similar debris.

In this way, the pre-filter protects the HEPA filter and helps extend its lifespan.
I recommend cleaning the pre-filter regularly, on average, about twice a month, but even more often if you’re using the air purifier in environments with pets or in areas with heavy pollution.
VENTAcel H13 filter
The main filtration stage of this air purifier is the HEPA H13 filter, which captures small airborne particles such as dust, pollen, allergens, mold, viruses, bacteria, and more.
Venta truly uses one of the highest-quality HEPA filters on the market.

The company claims their HEPA H13 filter can remove 99.95% of particles as small as 0.07 ÎĽm.
We confirmed the quality of this filter in our performance tests, where the Venta delivered excellent results, on par with some of the best air purifiers we’ve tested so far.
How to Replace the Venta LP60 Air Purifier Filters?
The main filter, the HEPA filter, is not washable, which means it needs to be replaced from time to time.
On average, this is about every 12 months. It’s important to know that this air purifier has a filter reset indicator that will notify you when it’s time to replace the filter. This indicator is located on the display.
It’s also worth noting that the pre-filter is washable and should be cleaned regularly, it does not need to be replaced.
The filter replacement process is very simple and consists of just a few steps.
Setup and Installation
The Venta LP60 Ultra doesn’t require any complicated setup before first use, all you need to do is prepare the filters.
Open the side covers of the device, take out the filters, and remove their packaging.

Then, place them back into the device, close the covers, and that’s it, your Venta air purifier is ready to use.
After that, place your air purifier in the desired location, making sure not to block the airflow, plug it in, and turn it on.
Design
In my opinion, one of the biggest downsides of this air purifier is its outdated design.
It looks somewhat like an old industrial device, which is quite odd considering the Venta LP60 Ultra was released in 2020, so it’s not an especially old model.

It’s available in white and black, and for testing purposes, we used the white version. Some details are in black, but white is the dominant color.
The plastic is of decent quality but nothing special, which is acceptable for this type of device.

What I don’t like is that the unit is very heavy and doesn’t have wheels for easier movement between rooms—something we’ve seen on the Levoit LV-H134 model, which is also bulky but comes with wheels.
All in all, I think Venta could have done a better job with the design of this air purifier.
Display and Controls
At the top of the device, there is a tiltable display.
It’s a touch display through which you have complete control over the device.

There you can find all the control buttons but also indicators for humidity and current air quality.
The display is easy to read and contains a lot of information and functions. However, I would have liked it if it had shown more detailed air quality data.
For example, it would be much better if it showed the current PM2.5 particulate matter in the air.
Airflow
The Venta LP60 Ultra has openings for drawing air in on the sides.

It draws air in through these openings, which is then filtered and exits through the grilles on the top and front side.
Size and Dimensions
The dimensions of this air purifier are 24 x 11.8 x 20.5 inches (61 x 30 x 52 cm).
It weighs 28.7 lb (13 kg).
The Venta LP60 Ultra is truly a massive air purifier, and you need to keep in mind that it will take up quite a lot of space in your room.
This is the kind of device you place in one spot and leave there without moving it around.
What’s in the Box?
When you buy the device, you will get the Venta LP60 Ultra air purifier, dual HEPA H13 filters, dual pre-filters, and a user manual.
Features Overview
In general, the Venta LP60 doesn’t have smart features to show off.
Still, it has some great and useful features that will make the use of your air purifier much easier, and much more pleasant.
Air Quality Sensor & Indicator
The Venta LP60 Ultra has an air quality sensor that measures the amount of PM2.5 particles in the air and sends this data to other features on the device.
For example, on the display in the upper right corner, you can see the air quality indicator, which lights up in different colors depending on the current air quality and shows you how clean or polluted the air is.

If it lights up red, the air quality is very poor; if it lights up green, the air quality is good.
In addition, the air quality sensor works with Auto Mode, which, when activated, automatically adjusts the fan speed between level 1 and level 5 based on the current air quality.
All in all, this is a very useful feature that allows you to automate the operation of your air purifier and check the air quality in your room at any time.
Timer
The timer is a feature that might be useful, especially considering the fact that the device doesn’t work with the smart app.
This simple feature allows you to set the desired time for which you want your air purifier to turn itself off.
You can set the timer to 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 hours.
Child Lock
This feature allows you to lock the control panel from accidental changes to the fan speed, timer, or other features.
It could be useful if you have small kids, or if you don’t want anyone to change your predefined settings.
Remote Controler
Although the Vent air purifier doesn’t have smart features, such as smart app compatibility, it has a remote controller, which is a great addition if you prefer controlling your device from a distance.
Through the remote, you can easily turn the device on/off, but also switch the fan speed.
All other features are accessible only directly, through the control panel at the top.
Warranty
The Venta LP60 comes with a two-year warranty.
I want to highlight Venta’s support, which is one of the best supports I’ve ever had. They answered all my questions on a high professional level, they don’t use generic answers, and they are truly polite.
