Full Review
The Homvana H101 is one of the most affordable humidifiers I’ve tested so far.
It’s a relatively small ultrasonic cool mist humidifier with a 3.6 L water tank, a simple control panel, and just a few additional features.
There’s no smart app, humidity sensor, or auto mode, but you do get a timer, mood lighting, aromatherapy, sleep mode, and dual 360-degree mist nozzles.

I used the Homvana for some time and put it through the same testing procedure as the other humidifiers we’ve reviewed.
What surprised me most is that, despite its low price, it held up reasonably well against models such as the Levoit Dual 150 and DREO HM311S.
If your main goal is simply to increase the humidity in a small room without spending too much money, I think the Homvana makes a lot of sense.
How We Tested the Homvana H101?
1. We test every humidifier in the same 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room. Before each test, we use a dehumidifier to lower the relative humidity in the room to around 40% RH, so every unit starts the test under identical conditions.
2. To track humidity levels, we use the Govee Hygrometer H5075 as our primary measuring device. We also set up a ThermoPro hygrometer as a secondary unit, which we use to confirm and cross-check the readings from the Govee.
3. We turn the Homvana H101 to maximum speed and let it run for 60 minutes. During this time, we measure the total RH increase the unit achieves, as well as how long it takes to raise the humidity by +5% RH.
4. We measure how much water the Homvana H101 uses in 60 minutes of running at max speed. Based on the measured water consumption (in mL/h) and the tank capacity, we calculate the real runtime on a full tank, not the manufacturer’s claim, but what we actually measured in our test.
5. Finally, we measure the power consumption of the Homvana H101 using a power meter. From this, we calculate how much it would add to your electricity bill if you ran it 24/7 at max speed for a month, and its efficiency in mL of water per watt-hour (mL/Wh), a metric that shows how well the unit converts electricity into moisture output.

In addition to using the Homvana H101 for some time in my home, we tested its humidification performance under the same conditions we use for the other humidifiers on Air Purifier First.
This makes it much easier to see how a relatively inexpensive model such as the Homvana compares with more expensive devices.
Efficiency Test
Before starting the test, we lowered the relative humidity in our 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) test room to 41.8%.
Then, we turned the Homvana H101 to its maximum setting and let it run for 60 minutes. After 30 minutes, the humidity had increased to 48.8%.
After 60 minutes, it reached 52.6%, meaning the Homvana increased the relative humidity by 10.8 percentage points, or approximately 25.84% compared with the starting value.

What’s also interesting is that it needed only 16 minutes to increase the humidity by 5 percentage points.
I would describe this as a decent result, especially considering the price of this humidifier.
For comparison, the DREO HM311S increased humidity by 12 percentage points in our test and produced approximately 206 mL/h of moisture. It’s a somewhat better-performing device, but it also has a humidity sensor, auto mode, and smart app, all of which the Homvana lacks.
On the other hand, the Levoit Dual 150 increased humidity by 10.2 percentage points in 60 minutes, which is very close to the Homvana’s result. The Levoit also produced only around 157 mL/h in our test.
If we move up to the Levoit OasisMist 450S, the difference becomes much more obvious. It increased humidity by 16.9 percentage points and produced approximately 301 mL/h, making it a much more powerful humidifier.
Overall, the Homvana isn’t one of the best humidifiers we’ve tested, but its performance is more than acceptable considering its price.
Runtime
In addition to measuring the humidity increase, we also measured exactly how much water the Homvana H101 used during the 60-minute test.
The humidifier weighed 4089 g before the test and 3908 g afterward, meaning it used approximately 181 mL of water in one hour at maximum output.

Considering its 3.6 L tank, this means a full tank will last approximately 19 hours and 53 minutes at maximum output.
Water Consumption & Tank Runtime Comparison
Two things at once: how much water each humidifier uses per hour at max speed (darker bars, bottom scale), and how long a full tank lasts at that rate (lighter bars, top scale).
For comparison, the DREO HM311S has a larger 4 L tank but lasts approximately 19.4 hours at maximum speed, while the Levoit Dual 150 lasts about 19.1 hours.
Of course, runtime alone doesn’t tell the whole story.
The Homvana lasts so long partly because its maximum moisture output is only 181 mL/h. More powerful models consume water faster because they release much more moisture into the room.
Still, almost 20 hours on a full tank means you won’t need to refill the Homvana frequently, even if you use it for long periods.
The Homvana H101 is one of the lowest power-consuming humidifiers we’ve tested.
Although it is rated at 18W, we measured just 17.5W on High Mode. So, if you ran the Homvana H101 at maximum speed, 24 hours a day, for a month, and paid $0.12 per kWh, it would increase your electricity bill by only about $1.53.

At its lowest operating setting, the estimated monthly cost is approximately $0.92.
Monthly Electricity Cost Comparison
Estimated monthly electricity cost of running each humidifier for 24 hours a day at $0.12 per kWh — darker bars show max speed, lighter bars the lowest speed. Lower is better.
For comparison, the DREO HM311S would cost approximately $2.18 per month at maximum speed, while the Levoit OasisMist 450S would cost approximately $2.40 when running at maximum cool-mist output.
Another interesting metric is moisture produced per watt-hour of electricity.
The Homvana achieved approximately 10.3 mL/Wh, which is almost exactly in line with the 10.2 mL/Wh average (currently average) of all the humidifiers in our comparison.
Moisture Efficiency Comparison
How much moisture each humidifier produces per watt-hour of electricity at max speed — higher is better. Calculated from our measured water usage and power draw.
It was more efficient than the DREO HM311S at 8.3 mL/Wh and the Levoit Dual 150 at 6.5 mL/Wh, while the Levoit OasisMist 450S was slightly better at approximately 11 mL/Wh.
All in all, electricity costs are definitely one of the Homvana H101’s strongest points.
Cleaning & Maintenance
When it comes to cleaning, the Homvana H101 isn’t much different from most other ultrasonic humidifiers I’ve tested.
You need to occasionally clean the tank, base, ultrasonic membrane, and any other parts that are constantly in contact with water.
The top-fill design helps with refilling and gives you relatively easy access to the water tank. Homvana also describes the H101 as a top-fill model.

However, the biggest factor that determines how difficult this humidifier will be to maintain is the water you use.
If you regularly use hard tap water, minerals will eventually build up on the plastic parts and around the ultrasonic membrane. You may also notice white mineral dust around the room.
If you use distilled or demineralized water, cleaning will be much easier, and there will be significantly less mineral buildup.

Overall, I wouldn’t say the Homvana is particularly easy or difficult to clean. It’s very similar to models such as the DREO HM311S, Levoit Dual 150, and many other ultrasonic humidifiers I’ve tested.
Features Overview
The Homvana H101 is a relatively simple humidifier. Frankly, the feature I miss the most is a humidity sensor.
Since the Homvana can’t measure the current humidity level, I would recommend using it with a separate hygrometer. This way, you can monitor the humidity in the room and manually lower or increase the mist output when necessary.
However, the Homvana still has a few useful features that are worth mentioning.
360-Degree Dual Rotatable Nozzles
One feature I really like is the mist outlet on top.
Instead of using a single fixed outlet, the Homvana H101 has two independently adjustable nozzles that can rotate 360 degrees.

This allows you to direct the mist in two different directions or point both outlets toward the same area.
It’s a simple feature, but I think it makes the Homvana noticeably more practical, especially if you place it somewhere near a wall or furniture.
The dual 360-degree nozzle design is also documented in Homvana’s H101 manual.
Timer
The Homvana H101 has a timer that allows you to set how long you want the device to operate before automatically turning off.
You can choose between 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 hours.
I think this is particularly useful if you use the humidifier while sleeping and don’t want it to operate throughout the entire night.
Sleep Mode & Mood Light
The Homvana also has a Sleep Mode and built-in mood lighting (night light).
The mood light offers several color options and gives the water tank a pleasant ambient glow.
You can also turn the lighting off completely, which is important if you plan to use the humidifier in a bedroom.
When Sleep Mode is activated, the display lighting is turned off to make the device less distracting at night.
Aromatherapy
Another feature available on the Homvana is aromatherapy.
There is a dedicated aroma tray where you can add a few drops of essential oil.

I like this implementation because you don’t have to add essential oils directly to the water tank.
In fact, I wouldn’t recommend putting oils directly into the tank, as they may damage parts of the humidifier. Homvana specifically provides a separate aroma pad for this purpose.
Automatic Shut-Off
The Homvana H101 automatically stops operating when there isn’t enough water in the tank.
This is a standard feature, but an important one, especially if you frequently leave the humidifier running overnight or when you aren’t constantly checking the water level.
Warranty
The Homvana H101 comes with a 3-year warranty, which is actually very good for a humidifier in this price range.
Design & Build Quality
When it comes to design, I think the Homvana H101 looks really nice.
It has a simple, modern design, a transparent water tank, and a night light that makes the whole device look more interesting when turned on. It’s also very compact.

The Homvana measures just 8.39 × 7.56 × 11.54 inches (21.3 × 19.2 × 29.3 cm) and weighs around 3 lb (1.36 kg).
Because of this, you shouldn’t have much trouble placing it on a nightstand, desk, dresser, or similar surface.
As for build quality, I would say it’s perfectly acceptable for the price.
However, don’t expect premium plastic or the overall finish you get with more expensive humidifiers.
For example, the Levoit OasisMist 450S feels like a noticeably more premium and higher-quality device, which is something I would consider if your budget allows you to spend more.

On the other hand, considering how inexpensive the Homvana usually is, I honestly don’t have many complaints about its design or build quality.
What comes with the device?
When you buy the Homvana H101, you get the humidifier, power adapter, aroma pad, cleaning accessories, and user manual.
FAQ on Homvana H101
Does the Homvana H101 have a humidity sensor?
No. It doesn’t have a built-in humidity sensor, which means it also doesn’t have an auto mode that could automatically maintain a target humidity level.
Can I use tap water in the Homvana H101?
You can, but I would rather use distilled or demineralized water whenever possible.
Hard tap water can lead to limescale buildup inside the humidifier and may also result in white mineral dust being dispersed around the room. Using water with fewer minerals will also make regular cleaning much easier.
Can you use essential oils with the Homvana H101?
Yes. The Homvana H101 has a dedicated aroma tray. Add essential oil to the aroma pad rather than directly into the water tank.
