BreatheSmart FIT50 is one of the best Alen BreathSmart models. It is probably the best-sized air purifier that Alen BreathSmart made. If you look at the price, room coverage, features, power consumption, and filter lifetime then you see that this model is one of the most affordable in the Alen BreathSmart series. 

Don’t get me wrong; if you need an air purifier that needs to cover a large room as 1300 square feet, then no question to ask the better solution is BreathSmart 75i. The same can be said if you need a smaller room air purifier up to 700 square feet then Alen BreathSmart FLEX is a better choice.

Filtering System That You Need

Alen BreatheSmart FIT50 has a few different filtration systems; it all depends on the type of filter you are using. If you buy base/ordinary FIT50, then you are probably using the True HEPA-Pure filtration system, because extra filters need to be ordered separately.

True HEPA -Pure Filter

This filtration system is basic, and most models come with that filter. True HEPA-Pure is good to remove allergens like pollen, pet dander, dust, mold spores. If you have allergy troubles, then this filter is recommended. 

Inside the True HEPA-Pure filtration system is a pre-filter, which primary purpose is to hold big particles getting to the True HEPA-Pure filter. True HEPA-Pure is the base model, and all other filters that you can buy as an extra option include True HEPA-Pure filter.

True HEPA-Silver Filter

It has a True HEPA-Pure filter like already mentioned above. But after a pre-filter, air goes through a silver filter which is specialized to trap bacteria, mold spores,s and maybe even some viruses. After a True HEPA-Pure filter is carbon layer which is good to remove bad odor, chemicals, and gases from the air, including smoke.

True HEPA-FreshPlus Filter

True HEPA-FreshPlus is made for a home that needs extra freshness.
