PARTU BS-08 Vs Levoit LV-H132 – Comparison

PARTU is the new company from China that got famous thanks to cool air purifiers. One of these air purifiers is also BS-08. It is a popular air purifier that is working very well in a room as large as 160 sq. ft. At least that’s what people from PARTU say. 

On the other side is Levoit. Levoit is a well-known company that doesn’t need any special introduction. They have many models for different room sizes. LV-H132 is, however, meant for smaller rooms up to 129 sq. Ft. The biggest question is can a Chinese brand beat a well-known Western brand. Without any hesitation, we must agree that Levoit has better popularity and reputation, but that does not mean it is a better air purifier.

What Features They Have?

At first look, we see that design is different. PARTU BS-08 is black, while Levoit LV-H132 is white. However, you can order special black-colored LV-H132. Color is not that important unless you have special needs for a particular color. 

Both air purifiers have identical features. Both have a night light, three speeds, and a three-stage filtration system. For filter replacement, both of them use a filter replacement indicator.

Controls

Controls are also similar. Both air purifiers have a touch control panel with identical material quality. Both devices on a button touch will react with a sound that will let you know that the button was clicked. Many other models don’t have this sound feature. The Control board is identical and contains the On/Off button, filter reset indicator, fan control, and night light. The only difference is the Anion Mode button, which is a feature that only PARTU BS-08 has.

Night Light

There is a distinguished difference in night light. Levoit uses blue color, which can be regulated. It has two modes: stronger light or dim light. On the other side, PARTU has 7 different night light colors. More than one color is a clear advantage because you can choose the desired color. It is scientifically proven that it is better to use red light than blue light at night.

Anion Mode

Anion Mode is PARTU’s feature, which helps at removing odors and other hardcore pollution. By default, this mode is off, and you need to press the button to turn it on. For a faster filtration, it is recommended to turn it on.

Filtration

As already said, both devices use a three-stage filtering system. Both devices use a pre-filter, True HEPA filter and activated carbon filter. However, we can say that PARTU has an additional filtering stage since it can use Anion Mode. 

Filter Replacement

Both devices use a filter replacement indicator, which will tell you when to change the filter. LV-H132 filters last from 6 to 8 months. While the PARTU BS-08 filter lasts up to 6 months. Noise

Noise will not be the reason for victory because both air purifiers produce identical noise levels. PARTU BS-08 is quiet on first and second speed while Levoit LV-H132 is quieter on third speed. Performance

We have tested both devices in real-life scenarios to see if performance will be the reason for victory. LV-H132 is best used in 129 sq. ft. room while PARTU BS-08 can be used up to 160 sq. ft. But we tested both devices in the room as large as 194 sq. ft. On paper, PARTU BS-08 should be better in this test. However, there is no significant difference among them in this test. 

194 Sq. Ft. Room Test

In one hour, LV-H132 improved air by 87% while in the same period PARTU BS-08 improved it by 88%. This test was done without Anion Mode on. With Anion Mode on, the results are much different. PARTU BS-08 with Anion Mode on improved air quality by 94%. As we see with Anion Mode, BS-08 is a much better air purifier and clearly takes victory in this test.

Other Tests

But we must say that LV-H132 also performed great in a 120 sq. Ft. room. Reducing AQI from 67 to 8 in only one hour and by that improving air quality for 88%.

Operation Costs

PARTU BS-08 uses a little bit more power than LV-H132. Levoit LV-H132 uses 28W, while PARTU uses 35W. Because of that, PARTU BS-08 in one month’s work on third speed will cost you 3.90$. LV-H132, thanks to its lower energy consumption, will cost you only 2.80$, considering the US’s electricity price is 0.12$/kW/h. Energy consumption is not a big difference, a dollar here or there, the much higher cost will be filter replacement.
