Morento MR2566 Vs Blueair Mini Max – In-depth Comparison

I compared two small air purifiers: the Blueair Mini Max and the Morento MR2566, to determine which one is the better choice to buy.

This time, I’m going to compare two very small air purifiers—so small that they could easily remind you of a Bluetooth speaker.

The first one is the Morento MR2566, which has a CADR of 32 CFM (54 m³/h) and covers rooms up to 50 sq. ft. (4.6 m²). The second is the Blueair Mini Max, slightly larger than the Morento, with a CADR of 60 CFM (102 m³/h) and coverage of up to 93 sq. ft. (9 m²).

Neither of these two air purifiers comes with smart features, but the Morento does have an aroma pad feature, which lets you add a few drops of essential oil to the device and spread fragrance throughout the room.

Both devices weigh around 2.8 lb (1.3 kg) and are very compact, so you can easily place them on an office desk, nightstand, or any other spot where space is limited.

After analyzing all the specifications and test results, my conclusion is that the Blueair Mini Max is a much better choice to buy.

The Blueair delivered better performance in tests, has a higher CADR, comes with a washable pre-filter, and overall offers much more than the Morento.

Performance Test – Comparison

We tested these two devices in rooms of different sizes but in line with their recommended CADR, in order to determine how effective they are at capturing airborne particles from the air.

In the first test, in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room, the Morento MR2566 improved air quality by about 82%, while the Blueair improved it by about 92%, which is a significantly better result.

Particle Removal Tests - Comparison

We placed the Morento MR2566 and Blueair Mini Max in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.

In the second test, the situation was very similar. This time, in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room, the Morento MR2566 improved air quality by about 78%, while the Blueair improved it by about 89%.

All in all, I think it’s more than obvious that the Blueair Mini Max achieved much better results in this test.

Noise Level Test – Comparison

When it comes to the noise level test, the usual situation is that a weaker air purifier, with a smaller motor and lower CADR, produces less noise.

At the lowest speed, the Morento MR2566 produced 40.2 dBA, while the Blueair Mini Max produced 40.4 dBA.

At maximum speed, the Blueair Mini Max produced 60.3 dBA, while the Morento MR2566 produced 60.7 dBA.

If you look at the noise level chart for the other speeds, you’ll see that the situation is similar at speed 2 as well. However, the difference in noise levels is negligible compared to the fact that the Blueair has nearly double the CADR.

That’s why I would say the Blueair Mini Max is slightly better optimized for noise levels.

Operating Costs – Comparison

When it comes to power usage, the situation is quite similar—both devices use very well-optimized motors.

The Blueair Mini Max has a 10W motor, while the Morento MR2566 has a 7W motor.

If you were to run these two devices at maximum speed, 24 hours a day, for an entire month, your electricity bill would increase by about $0.68 with the Blueair and about $0.52 with the Morento.

On top of that, there’s the cost of replacement filters, which last up to 6 months for both devices.

Taking everything into account, and calculating the power-to-CADR ratio (6 for the Blueair Mini Max vs. 4.6 for the Morento—the higher the number, the better the ratio), we can conclude that the Blueair Mini Max is slightly better optimized for power usage and is more affordable to maintain on a yearly basis.
