Our Verdict

Realistically speaking, the Levoit EverestAir and the Winix 5510 are two top-tier air purifiers. However, each model has its own advantages and disadvantages.
In my opinion, the Levoit EverestAir offers slightly more than the Winix.
It has a higher CADR, delivers somewhat better performance, and uses a much better smart app. These are the main reasons why I would choose it as the better purchase over the Winix.

Performance Test – Comparison
The Levoit EverestAir has a CADR of 360 CFM (612 m³/h), making it suitable for spaces of up to 558 sq. ft. (52 m²).
On the other hand, the Winix 5510 has a CADR of 253 CFM (430 m³/h) and is best suited for rooms of up to 392 sq. ft. (36 m²).
We tested their airborne particle removal performance using a Temtop laser particle meter.
Particle Removal Tests - Comparison
We placed the Levoit EverestAir and Winix 5510 in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.
Since these two air purifiers have different CADR ratings, we tested them in rooms of different sizes. In the first test, performed in a 560 sq. ft. (52 m²) room, the Levoit EverestAir improved air quality by about 96%, which is an outstanding result.
In the second test, we placed the Winix 5510 in a 320 sq. ft. (30 m²) room, where it also improved air quality by approximately 96%.
Although both devices achieved the same level of improvement, testing the Levoit EverestAir in a significantly larger room highlights its higher overall efficiency and stronger ability to capture airborne particles.
When it comes to odor removal, both air purifiers performed almost identically.
Noise Level Test – Comparison
Both air purifiers come with five fan speeds and include an auto mode.
We tested their noise levels using a specialized sound level meter.
The results were very similar, almost identical. You can see this clearly in the chart and table.

Although the Winix performed slightly better in absolute noise measurements, the Levoit EverestAir offers a significantly better CADR-to-noise ratio. This makes it overall better optimized for noise efficiency than the Winix.
Operating Costs – Comparison
When it comes to power consumption, the first thing to note is that both air purifiers use relatively large motors.
The Levoit EverestAir is equipped with a 70W motor, while the Winix 5510 uses a 65W motor.
If you were to run both units at their maximum speeds for 24 hours a day over the course of one month, your electricity bill would increase by approximately $5.34 with the Levoit and about $4.68 with the Winix.

In addition to electricity costs, there is also the cost of replacement filters. The Levoit EverestAir filters typically need to be replaced every 12 to 15 months, while the Winix 5510 filters generally require replacement about once per year.

Considering that replacement filters for the Winix are significantly more affordable and that it consumes slightly less energy, it is reasonable to conclude that the Winix 5510 is the more cost-effective option for annual maintenance.
