Levoit Core Mini Vs Morento MR2566 – Tested & Compared!

We placed the Levoit Core Mini and Morento MR2566 side by side to determine which one is the better buying option.

The Levoit Core Mini is the smallest air purifier from this brand, and the same is true for the Morento MR2566, which is the smallest Morento air purifier.

Today I will compare their performance, filtration technology, and specifications, and determine which one is the better buying option.

Both air purifiers are low on features and have small CADRs, but on the other hand, they use low-power motors and have aroma pad features.

The Levoit Core Mini has a CADR of 46 CFM (78 m³/h), meaning it’s ideal for rooms of up to 72 sq. ft. (6.7 m²). On the other hand, the Morento MR2566 has a CADR of 32 CFM (54 m³/h), making it ideal for rooms of up to 50 sq. ft. (4.6 m²).

Keep reading to find out which one will take first place as our better buying option.

After putting everything together and analyzing all the test results, I would say that the Levoit Core Mini is a better buying option.

To be frank, neither of these two devices has anything revolutionary to show off, both have low CADR values and use small filters, but in this comparison, the Levoit took the win.

Performance Test – Comparison

What I like when comparing two air purifiers with similar CADRs is the fact that I can easily test their performance in rooms of identical dimensions.

That’s the situation with these two. I placed them in two separate tests and measured their airborne particle removal efficiency using the Temtop laser particle meter.

Particle Removal Tests - Comparison

We placed the Levoit Core Mini and Morento MR2566 in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.

In the first test, in a room of 120 sq. ft. (11 m²), the Levoit Core Mini improved air quality by 91%, while the Morento MR2566 improved air quality in the same test by 82%.

In the second test, the Levoit was also much better. This time, they were tested in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room, in which the Levoit Core Mini improved air quality by 89%, while the Morento did it by 78%.

It’s clear that the Levoit Core Mini is much more efficient than the Morento in our airborne particle removal tests.

Noise Level Test – Comparison

What makes the noise test easy to do is the fact that these two air purifiers have an identical number of fan speeds: three of them.

We measured their noise levels at all speeds using a special noise measurement tool.

At the lowest speed, the Levoit Core Mini produces a sound of 41.8 dBA, while the Morento MR2566 produces a sound of 40.2 dBA.

Noise Levels - Comparison

Comparison of noise levels at all fan speeds between the Levoit Core Mini and Morento MR2566 air purifiers.

However, at maximum speed, the situation is drastically different. The Levoit Core Mini produces 53.6 dBA, while the Morento produces 60.7 dBA.

Fan Speed Morento MR2566 (dBA)Levoit Core Mini (dBA)
Sleep Mode40.2 dBA-
Speed 1 (Low)45.7 dBA41.8 dBA
Speed 2 (Medium)60.7 dBA46.5 dBA
Speed 3 (High)-53.6 dBA

Having such a small CADR and producing a high 60.7 dBA is a sign that Morento engineers could have optimized the motor much better, or at least improved the device’s CADR.

The Levoit Core Mini is much better optimized for noise.

Operating Costs – Comparison

I don’t want to say anything more than that these two are among the lowest power consumers among all the air purifiers we tested.

They both use motors of just 7W, making them truly low-power consumers.

If you use them at their maximum speeds, 24 hours daily, for one month, your electric power bill would increase by about $0.52 in the case of the Morento, and by about $0.63 in the case of the Levoit Core Mini.

Monthly Power Consumption Cost - Comparison

Comparison of monthly power consumption costs for the Levoit Core Mini and Morento MR2566 air purifiers at all fan speeds.

What I don’t like about these two devices is that they use filters with short lifespans, so you would need to replace them up to four times per year in both cases.

Fan Speed Morento MR2566 (W + $/month)Levoit Core Mini (W + $/month)
Standby0.3W ($0.03)0W ($0)
Sleep Mode0.6W ($0.05)-
Speed 1 (Low)1.7W ($0.15)1W ($0.09)
Speed 2 (Medium)5.9W ($0.52)2.8W ($0.25)
Speed 3 (High)- 7.2W ($0.63)

However, the Morento MR2566 has slightly cheaper replacement filters, which is why I would declare it a more affordable air purifier for annual maintenance.
