I recently purchased and tested the famous Levoit Core 300S air purifier, the big brother to the Core 200S. In today’s review, I will contrast these two models to determine which offers more value, higher efficiency, and ultimately is the better buying option.
Before delving further into the comparison, let me compare the basic features of both. The Levoit Core 200S is intended for smaller rooms, covering areas up to 183 sq. ft., while the Levoit Core 300S is designed to cover slightly larger rooms, up to 219 sq. ft.
Both models use a three-stage filtration technology that includes a nylon mesh pre-filter, a True HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. However, the Core 300S offers the option of purchasing additional specialized filters such as Pet Allergy, Toxin Absorber, and Mold and Bacteria filters. Both air purifiers use high-quality filters, but the one in the Core 300S is a bit larger.
Where the Core 300S also outperformed the Core 200S in power consumption. Surprisingly, despite being larger and more powerful, the Core 300S uses a lower-wattage motor. Well done, Levoit!
In the continuation of the article, you will find a table comparing the detailed specifications of these two air purifiers.

Levoit Core 200S Vs Core 300S – Video Comparison
Which One Does It Better?
Overall, these are two outstanding air purifiers, and I must say that I like them both. However, the Levoit Core 300S tends to edge out of its competition for several reasons. It showed superior performance during tests, has larger filters, uses less power, and comes equipped with an air quality sensor. Not to mention, it’s the successor to the best-selling Levoit air purifier, the Core 300.
I personally would go with the Core 200S only in a small bedroom, primarily due to its night light feature and impressively quiet sleep mode. For all other scenarios, the Core 300S remains my preferred choice.
