Today, I will compare two small air purifiers that are pretty popular and often compared.
The Levoit Core Mini is one of the best-selling Levoit air purifiers. It covers rooms of up to 72 sq. ft. (6.7 m²), uses three-stage filtration technology, and doesn’t have smart features.
On the other hand, the GoveeLife Mini covers slightly larger rooms, of up to 78 sq. ft. (7.2 m²). It also uses a three-stage filtration technology, but unlike the Levoit Core Mini, it has plenty of smart features.
We compared their performance, noise, power, and specifications to determine which one is the better buy.
Our Verdict

In general, the Levoit Core Mini and GoveeLife Mini are two tiny air purifiers, intended for small rooms, that don’t offer anything revolutionary.
However, for small bedrooms, small offices, and similar small spaces, they could fit pretty well.
Based on all the specifications, test data, and other factors, I would say that the Levoit Core Mini is the better buying option.

Performance Test – Comparison
Based on their CADRs, we placed these two air purifiers in two rooms of the same size and tested their airborne particle removal performance.
The GoveeLife Mini has a CADR of 50 CFM (85 mÂł/h), while the Levoit Core Mini has a CADR of 46 CFM (78 mÂł/h).
In the first test, we placed these two air purifiers in a room of 120 sq. ft. (11 m²), in which the GoveeLife Mini managed to improve air quality by 87%, while the Levoit Core Mini improved it by 91%.
Particle Removal Tests - Comparison
We placed the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.
In the second test, this time in a slightly larger room, of 194 sq. ft. (18 m²), the Levoit Core Mini also achieved better results.
It improved air quality by 89%, while the GoveeLife Mini did it by 77%.
Both air purifiers ran for 60 minutes at maximum speed, and we used the Temtop laser particle meter to measure their performance.
What I also want to point out is that neither of these two showed good performance in bad odor and smoke removal, which is due to a lack of a proper carbon filter and low CADR values.
Based on the results, I would say that the Levoit Core Mini performed better in our performance tests.
Noise Level Test – Comparison
Both air purifiers have three fan speeds. We tested noise levels at each speed using a specialized noise measurement tool.
At the lowest speed, the GoveeLife Mini produces a noise level of 40.1 dBA, while the Levoit Core Mini produces a noise level of 41.8 dBA.
Noise Level Comparison
Comparing the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini noise levels at minimum and maximum speeds.
At the maximum speed, the GoveeLife Mini produces a noise level of 56.5 dBA, while the Levoit Core Mini produces a noise level of 53.6 dBA.
While both air purifiers are well optimized for noise, I would say that the Levoit Core Mini is slightly better optimized.
Operating Costs – Comparison
As for power use, these two air purifiers are among the lowest power consumers among all the air purifiers I have tried.
The GoveeLife Mini uses a motor of just 8W, while the Levoit Core Mini uses a motor of 7W.
If you were to use both air purifiers at their maximum speed, 24h daily, for one month, your electricity bill would increase by about $0.65 in the case of the GoveeLife Mini, and by about $0.63 in the case of the Levoit Core Mini.
Power Usage Comparison
Comparing the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini power use at minimum and maximum speeds.
Besides power use, there is also the cost of the replacement filter, which should be replaced approximately 2–4 times per year for both air purifiers.
However, the Levoit Core Mini offers many more third-party filter options than the GoveeLife Mini.
After summing up all the costs and considering the slightly longer filter life of the GoveeLife Mini, I would say that it’s slightly more affordable for annual maintenance.
