The Levoit Core 300 is a legendary air purifier and one of the best-selling Levoit models.
In this article, I will compare it with the GoveeLife Mini.
When it comes to room coverage, the Levoit Core 300 has a CADR of 141 CFM (240 m³/h) and covers rooms up to 219 sq. ft. (20 m²). The GoveeLife Mini, on the other hand, has a CADR of 50 CFM (85 m³/h) and covers rooms up to 78 sq. ft. (7.2 m²).
Neither device has any advanced features worth mentioning, although the GoveeLife Mini does have a smart app, which essentially serves only as a remote control.
Our Verdict

After analyzing all the specifications and test results, it’s clear that the Levoit Core 300 is a much better purchase choice.
It showed superior airborne particle removal performance, has a higher CADR, uses a larger filter, and is much more effective at neutralizing odors.

Performance Test – Comparison
We tested the performance of these two air purifiers in accordance with their room coverage. For testing purposes, we used a Temtop laser particle meter, and the devices were running at maximum speed the entire time.
What’s interesting is that we tested both devices in a room of 194 sq. ft. (18 m²), and the difference in performance is obvious.
Particle Removal Tests - Comparison
We placed the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core 300 in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.
In just 60 minutes of running at max speed, the GoveeLife Mini improved air quality by 77%, while the Levoit Core 300 improved it by 93%.
It’s clear that the Levoit Core 300 is the much more efficient and powerful air purifier, at least when it comes to airborne particle performance.
Noise Level Test – Comparison
Before I move on to the noise measurement results, I want to mention that the GoveeLife Mini has three fan speeds, while the Levoit Core 300 has four.
Using a dedicated noise measurement tool, I measured the noise levels of both devices at all speeds. The conclusion is that the Levoit Core 300 is much louder, especially at max speed, but it should also be taken into account that it has a much higher CADR and is a far more powerful air purifier.
Noise Levels - Comparison
Comparison of noise levels at all fan speeds between the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core 300 air purifiers.
At the lowest speed, the GoveeLife Mini produces 40.1 dBA, while the Levoit Core 300 produces 40.7 dBA.
At maximum speed, the GoveeLife Mini produces 56.5 dBA, while the Levoit Core 300 produces 64.9 dBA.
| Fan Speed | GoveeLife Mini (dBA) | Levoit Core 300 (dBA) |
|---|---|---|
| Sleep Mode | 40.1 dBA | 40.7 dBA |
| Speed 1 (Low) | 46.7 dBA | 46.4 dBA |
| Speed 2 (High) | 56.5 dBA | - |
| Speed 2 (Medium) | - | 52.9 dBA |
| Speed 3 (High) | - | 64.9 dBA |
All in all, although the difference is obvious, I will once again say that the Levoit is a far more powerful and larger air purifier.
Operating Costs – Comparison
When it comes to operating cost, the first thing you’ll notice is that the Levoit has a nearly six times more powerful motor than the GoveeLife.
The Levoit Core 300 uses a 45W motor, while the GoveeLife Mini uses an 8W motor.
Monthly Power Consumption Cost - Comparison
Comparison of monthly power consumption costs for the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core 300 air purifiers at all fan speeds.
This means that if you were to run both air purifiers 24 hours a day over the course of one month, your electricity bill would increase by about $3.81 for the Levoit and about $0.65 for the GoveeLife Mini.
In addition to this cost, there is also the cost of replacement filters, which, according to the manufacturers, last between 6 and 8 months for both devices.
| Fan Speed | GoveeLife Mini (W + $/month) | Levoit Core 300 (W + $/month) |
|---|---|---|
| Standby | 0.4W ($0.04) | 0.8W ($0.07) |
| Sleep Mode | 1.6W ($0.14) | - |
| Speed 1 (Low) | 3W ($0.26) | 29.4W ($2.58) |
| Speed 2 (High) | 7.4W ($0.65) | - |
| Speed 2 (Medium) | - | 31.4W ($2.75) |
| Speed 3 (High) | - | 43.5W ($3.81) |
However, the filter price doesn’t make a significant difference, especially since the Levoit consumes far more electricity, which altogether makes it somewhat more expensive to maintain than the GoveeLife Mini.
