Aroeve MK01 Vs MOOKA B-D02L – In-depth Comparison

In this comparison, we measured the strengths of two small air purifiers: the Aroeve MK01 and MOOKA B-D02L.

The Aroeve MK01 and MOOKA B-D02L are two compact air purifiers with small coverage, only a few features, and very small filters.

We’ve compared their performance, specifications, and other key aspects to determine which one offers better value for buyers.

One notable characteristic of these devices is a lot of positive reviews, which have pushed them to become best-sellers in the air purifier market in a short time.

While neither of these air purifiers stands out with advanced features (except the aroma pad on Aroeve), this comparison will mainly focus on the comparison of test results.

Neither the Aroeve MK01 nor the MOOKA B-D02L is Energy Star certified, making it difficult to verify their CADR values and room coverage.

However, I’m sure that both models are suitable for smaller rooms than the manufacturers suggest.

The MOOKA B-D02L has a slightly larger filter, produces better performance, and is more cost-effective to maintain. For these reasons, it’s the winner and the better choice in this comparison.

Performance Test – Comparison

According to the manufacturer, the MOOKA B-D02L has a slightly higher CADR than the Aroeve MK01. However, both devices delivered nearly identical results in our performance tests.

The Aroeve MK01 has a CADR of 30 CFM (51 m³/h), making it suitable for rooms up to 47 sq. ft. (4.4 m²). In contrast, the MOOKA B-D02L boasts a CADR of 135 CFM (230 m³/h), ideal for rooms up to 215 sq. ft. (20 m²).

We performed two tests to test their performance. In the first test, performed in a 120 sq. ft. (11 m²) room, the MOOKA reduced PM2.5 particulate matter from 100 to 12.1 µg/m³, resulting in an air quality improvement of 87%. The Aroeve achieved an improvement of 86% in the same conditions.

Particle Removal Tests - Comparison

We placed the Aroeve MK01 Vs MOOKA B-D02L in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.

In the second test, performed in a 194 sq. ft. (18 m²) room, the results were similarly close. The MOOKA improved air quality by 81%, while the Aroeve achieved an 82% improvement.

Despite their similar results in these tests, the MOOKA excelled in odor neutralization, has a higher CADR, and uses a larger filter. These advantages combined make it the better performer overall.

Noise Level Test – Comparison

When it comes to noise levels, the MOOKA stands out with its four fan speeds compared to the Aroeve’s three.

We tested their noise levels using a specialized tool that measures sound on the dBA scale.

At the lowest speed, the results were nearly identical: the Aroeve MK01 produced 40.9 dBA, while the MOOKA produces 40.7 dBA.

Noise Levels - Comparison

Comparison of noise levels at all fan speeds between the Aroeve MK01 Vs MOOKA B-D02L air purifiers.

However, at maximum speed, the difference was higher. The MOOKA produced 61.1 dBA, compared to the Aroeve’s 57.9 dBA.

It’s important to note that the MOOKA has an additional fan speed, and when comparing only the first three fan speeds, the Aroeve is slightly louder than the MOOKA.

Fan Speed MOOKA B-D02L (dBA)Aroeve MK01 (dBA)
Sleep Mode40.7 dBA40.9 dBA
Speed 1 (Low)45.9 dBA49.1 dBA
Speed 2 (Medium)52.2 dBA57.9 dBA
Speed 3 (High)61.1 dBA-

For this reason, the MOOKA B-D02L is better optimized for noise and is, overall, a quieter air purifier than the Aroeve MK01.

Operating Costs – Comparison

Small air purifiers like these are typically not large power consumers. The Aroeve MK01 operates with a 17W motor, while the MOOKA uses a 16W motor.

At maximum speed, running 24 hours a day for an entire month, the MOOKA would add approximately $1.32 to your electric bill, while the Aroeve would add about $1.36.

Not only does the MOOKA consume slightly less power, but it also has a higher CADR, giving it a better power-to-CADR ratio.

Monthly Power Consumption Cost - Comparison

Comparison of monthly power consumption costs for the Aroeve MK01 Vs MOOKA B-D02L air purifiers at all fan speeds.

Additionally, there is a cost of replacing filters. The Aroeve’s filters are slightly more affordable, but the thing is that both devices’ filters tend to last much shorter than the manufacturer claims. In practice, you may need to replace the filters on both up to four times per year.

Fan Speed MOOKA B-D02L (W + $/month)Aroeve MK01 (W + $/month)
Standby1.2W ($0.11)0W ($0)
Sleep Mode2.8W ($0.25)2.2W ($0.19)
Speed 1 (Low)5.1W ($0.45)11.3W ($0.99)
Speed 2 (Medium)8W ($0.7)15.5W ($1.36)
Speed 3 (High)15W ($1.32)-

In summary, the MOOKA offers a better power-to-CADR ratio, while the Aroeve has cheaper filters, resulting in nearly identical overall operating costs.
