Levoit is an air purifier manufacturer that has been in business since 2017. Since its beginning, the company has launched more than ten different models of air purifiers. I have bought and tested almost all of them.
During this time, Levoit has become one of the best-selling air purifier brands in the US—a status that isn’t surprising given the quality and affordability of its products.

The main characteristics of Levoit air purifiers are high-efficiency filters, smart features, excellent performance, outstanding customer support, and great build quality. Additionally, they produce no ozone, with the exception of the PlasmaPro models. While I haven’t tested PlasmaPro variants yet, they are CARB-certified, meaning they are safe to use.
In this guide, I have categorized all the air purifiers and provided recommendations so that every consumer can find the best option for their needs. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the list of the five best Levoit air purifiers.

I must say, I didn’t pay much attention to Levoit’s Vital series until the Vital 100S and 200S were released. Now, both models have made it onto my list of the best Levoit air purifiers.
The Levoit Vital 200S is a medium-sized air purifier that covers rooms up to 380 sq. ft. (35 m²). It’s a smart air purifier that uses the latest innovative technology developed by Levoit.
This air purifier uses three-stage filtration technology, including a washable pre-filter, a True HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. With its washable pre-filter that easily traps pet hair, a high-quality True HEPA filter, and a pellet-based carbon filter, it earns not just the title of the best Levoit air purifier but also the best Levoit air purifier for pet owners. It’s a double win!

In performance tests, it demonstrated exceptional results, especially in a 320 sq. ft. room, where it improved air quality by about 96% in just 60 minutes.
It’s also a very quiet air purifier, especially at lower speeds, making it ideal for bedrooms.
Frankly, I’m pleased that Levoit has released such a high-quality device, and I hope they continue to release even better devices in the future. Without a doubt, the Levoit Vital 200S is the best Levoit air purifier I have tested. I strongly recommend it!

Levoit Core 600S – Best For Large Rooms
Levoit Core 600S Air Purifier, now $249.99 (save 17%)

Levoit Core 600S Keypoints
- It covers spaces of up to 635 sq. ft. (59 m²), making it a perfect option for large rooms.
- The Core 600S uses a three-stage filtration technology consisting of a pre-filter, a main filter, and an activated carbon filter. It’s CARB-certified.
- It improved air quality by approximately 96% in a 560 sq. ft. room and by about 93% in a 730 sq. ft. room in just 60 minutes
- This Levoit also comes with a 2-year warranty.
The Levoit Core 600S is a massive air purifier with a room coverage of 635 sq. ft. (59 m²), which, along with high-quality filtration technology, makes it the best air purifier for large rooms.
It uses a traditional Levoit 3-in-1 filter consisting of a pre-filter, a main filter, and an activated carbon filter. What I don’t like about this model is the recent removal of the “HEPA” mark from marketing materials, meaning I can’t guarantee it’s a True HEPA air purifier anymore. This is also one of the reasons I choose the Vital 200S as the best option instead of the Core 600S.
However, despite this drawback, it’s still one of the best air purifiers I have tested. It has incredible performance, has a well-optimized motor, and offers good value for the price.
Particle Removal Test Room - Comparison
Comparison between the Levoit Core 600S and its competitors in particle removal tests in a 560 sq. ft. (52 m²) room.
In a performance test performed in a 560 sq. ft. room, it improved air quality by about 96% in just 60 minutes at maximum speed—an outstanding achievement.
What I also like about the Core 600S is its effective neutralization of VOCs, plenty of smart features, and quiet operation at the lowest speeds. All these make this the best Levoit air purifier for large rooms I can recommend.

Levoit Core 400S Air Purifier, now $151.94 (save 31%)

Levoit Core 400S Keypoints
- It covers rooms of up to 403 sq. ft. (37 m²), with an ACH of 4.8, making it ideal for medium-sized rooms.
- The Levoit Core 400S uses three-stage filtration technology consisting of a pre-filter, a main filter, and an activated carbon filter.
- Plenty of smart features, extraordinary performance, and low power consumption are just some of the reasons I recommend this air purifier.
- This Levoit also comes with a 2-year warranty.
The Levoit Core 400S impressed me in many ways, which is why I often recommend it in buying guides.
It has a CADR of 260 CFM / 442 m³/h, meaning it will clean the air in a 403 sq. ft. (37 m²) room 4.8 times in one hour. By the specifications, it has a slightly lower airflow than the previously mentioned Core 600S, but it showed the same or even better results in some tests.
The Core 400S uses a 3-in-1 filter consisting of a pre-filter, a main filter, and an activated carbon filter. The filter is cylindrical and located on the unit’s bottom half. Its 360-degree air inlet allows the unit to draw in air from all sides.

It produced outstanding results in performance tests. In a 320 sq. ft. room, it improved the air quality by about 96% in just 60 minutes, working at maximum speed throughout. It’s also very quiet and energy-efficient.
For all these reasons, I recommend the Levoit Core 400S as one of the best Levoit air purifiers you can buy, especially if you are looking for a device for a medium-sized room.

The Levoit Vital 100S is the one I tested just recently, and I immediately knew that it would find its place in many buying guides and recommendations here on Air Purifier First.
In one sentence, its specifications are similar to the Levoit Core 300S, but the Vital 100S delivers better performance, uses more advanced filters, and, in my opinion, represents a significant improvement over the Core 300S model.
This air purifier is suited for rooms up to 219 sq. ft. (20 m²), where it can clean the air 4.8 times in an hour. Its power makes it ideal for smaller spaces such as a child’s room, a small bedroom, or similar areas.
It uses the same three-stage filtration technology as seen in the Vital 200S but with smaller filters. The filtration stages include a washable pre-filter, a True HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter.
Besides providing high-quality filtration, Levoit has included many smart features in this air purifier, making it both smart and efficient.
Overall, with its superior performance and thoughtful features, the Levoit Vital 100S is the top Levoit air purifier for small rooms, and I absolutely recommend it.

Which is the Best Levoit Air Purifier?
Levoit is known for producing high-quality air purifiers, and its status as one of the best-selling air purifier brands is well-deserved. However, not all models perform equally, and some may not be the best choice.
After thoroughly researching and testing 16 of the 19 currently available Levoit models, I’ve compiled a list of the top five worth considering. The best among these, according to my findings, is the Levoit Vital 200S.
The other air purifiers featured in this guide are also high quality and won’t disappoint you. However, for some specific situations where the coverage of the Vital 200S isn’t enough, the Levoit Core 600S stands as the top recommendation with its enormous CADR and large coverage.
If you have any questions about Levoit air purifiers or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to use the comment section below.

I notice you have not included Levoit core 300s in your list. Is there a specific reason for this? Does it have an Energy Star listing, and does it produce ozone?
Thanks
The Levoit Core 300S was included on this list in previous versions of the article, but I recently replaced it with the Levoit Vital 100S. The Vital 100S offers a washable pre-filter, better filtration efficiency, and a more modern design. It also performed better overall in our tests.
The Core 300S doesn’t produce ozone.
Do these Levoit air purifires produce ozone?
No, neither of the Levoit air purifiers on this list produce ozone.
